Although it is not yet official, Serginho will play for Vôlei Renata (commonly known as Campinas) in the 2019/20 season. A few days ago, the 43-year-old (44 in October) former Brazil National Team libero stated for SporTV that he was finalizing the negotiations with the club who was stopped in the the playoff quarter-finals of the 2018/19 Brazilian top division by future champions EMS Taubaté Funvic.
In the last two seasons, a two-time Olympic and world champion defended the colors of Corinthians/Guarulhos in which he served as a captain and to whose establishing in 2017 he had an important role. The 2019/20 season will be the 27th in his professional career!
Recall that this week another Brazilian libero nicknamed Serginho, also the veteran and prominent name of the country’s Volleyball, found the new club for the next season as well.
