In a single-match for the 2019 Supercopa trophy, held in Uberlândia, national champions EMS Taubaté Funvic beat Cup winners Sada Cruzeiro by 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-18). This was the first-ever title in the competition of Taubaté that came after they had to bounce back from a one-set deficit. Taubaté truly got off on the right foot this season in Brazil as they lifted two trophies in one week: the state championship (Paulista Championship) for the sixth time and now Super Cup.
At the end of the match that had as many as seven 2019 FIVB World Cup winners with Brazil National Team on the court, Taubaté outside hitter Ricardo Lucarelli was named the Most Valuable Player.
Recall that Dentil/Praia Clube won the female Super Cup, a few days ago.
