Cruzeiro calmly beat Sesi in the seventh round of the 2020/21 Brazilian Men’s Superliga Banco do Brasil regular season: 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-23). The Contagem team achieved the 5th victory and assumed the vice-leadership of the competition, while Sesi-SP accumulated the fourth defeat.

The match was marked with a duel of the Souza siblings, both opposite hitters, in which the older one Alan, from the winning side, outscored an 18-year-old Darlan (14 vs 13 points). Interestingly, these two were teammates last season in which Darlan, one of the standouts of the basic categories of the Brazilian National Team, was occasionally getting a chance in the first squad of Sesi. Alan shared the top scorer ‘title’ today with Argentinean Facundo Conte.

EMS Taubaté Funvic prevailed over Vôlei Renata in four sets in their second match in three days and maintained 100% success in the league: seven games and seven wins. The defeat broke a sequence of 12 consecutive wins for Vôlei Renata at home counting the previous and current editions of Superliga as well as a state championship.

The highlight of the match was the Taubaté opposite hitter Felipe Roque, who scored 22 points of which 4 came from the block. Thales Hoss nade 84 % reception (47 % excellent).
