For coach Pertti Honkanen it was question of some details that decided the story of the match. For coach Percy Oncken of Brazil, Finland put a lot of pressure and knew exactly when and how to rise up.

Pertti Honkanen, coach of Finland: “It was a nice match for us. We saw that we are ready to play well. I am satisfied with the fighting spirit of my team. We played hard and ended with lifting our face. Brazil showed more experience and improved a bit on the fifth set.”

Percy Oncken, coach of Brazil: “Finland played very well and put a lot of pressure on our block. We played well in the first two set but they caught us with our guard down and they raised up against us. This was a very important march because it decided a berth to next round.”

Sakari Mäkinen, captain of Finland: “Congratulations to Brazil. We knew it was going to be a tough match for us today. My team showed a great spirit of competitions but we made some mistakes in the end.”

Fabio Rodriguez, captain of Brazil: Finland is a very complete team. All their 12 players. We played a good match in first and second sets but lost concentration. We went to tie breaker and fortunately solved it.”
