In an interview with GloboEsporte.com, Lucas said that Bruno helped him a lot.
“Bruno helped me in almost everything. But I study Italian alone and I can understand almost 100 per cent, but speaking the language is more complicated.”
Even though Lucas had to go through learning a new language, the 29-year-old blocker accepted the offer to play in Italy, not only to play alongside his friend and captain Bruno, but also to play with and against the best players in the world in a highly competitive environment.
“I have always wished to play against the best players in the world and be put to the test all the time,” Lucas said. “This will make me better in every aspect, especially in pre-match preparation and concentration.“
“I was very well received here. Everyone is very helpful and the crowd is wonderful. The atmosphere within the team is great, which helped me a lot to adapt. The coaching staff also works in a very dynamic way, which makes my training interesting all the time.”
Modena started this season with the trophy:
“It has been a very good experience,” Lucas said. “The team is very good; the structure and organization works well. Our winning start is good and it gives us confidence to work harmoniously.”
