Imoco Volley Conegliano have opened the women's CEV Champions League semifinals with a huge 3-0 win over the Turkish team Fenerbahce.

Imoco Volley have opened the game much better, taking the first set and earning the confidence boost. In the continuation of the game, the Yellow Angels had some answers, but it seems it was not enough to win the set or to force the game toward the uncertain finish.

This is a huge win for the Italian side but it doesn’t mean anything since they will need to win at least two sets in Turkey to prevent the Golden Set. Zoran Terzic’s side won’t surrender that easy in the rematch.

Samanta Fabrsi was the best scorer in the home team with 20 points, while the 19[year old Melissa Vargas, who has an intention to apply for the Turkish citizenship, has ended the game with 23 points on the other side.

Women’s CEV Champions League, semifinals:

Imoco Conegliano – Fenerbahce 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 26-24)

Vakifbank – Novara (Thursday, 18:00 CET)

Fener could won at least 2 sets. Too many mistakes by Vargas.

Wow, but with the Vargas anti-star. 7 errors in the attack and 7 blocked. Already better than her in the representation of Turkey are Boz and Karakurt.

In the next season Fenerbahce must have a better setter and opposite.
