Serbia recorded its third straight-set victory at the 2021 CEV Women’s Volleyball European Championship.
In the perfect evening of Tijana Bošković, Serbia beat Belgium on home soil in Belgrade in Pool A. Out of three matches, the one against the ‘Yellow Tigers’ was the toughest for the reigning champion but regardless of that, it didn’t concede a single set yet. Bošković tallied 27 points (63 % attack, 25/40, two errors), 12 of which were in the first set – an astounding output for a three-set game. Bojana Milenković had 72 % reception (18 digs, 50 % excellent). Britt Herbots scored 20 points for Belgium, while Jodie Guilliams had 79 % reception (14 digs, 50 % excellent).
Italy remained unbeaten after two encounters it played. In the match in which everything seemed easy for them, ‘Azzurrine’ swept Hungary in Pool D in Zadar (Croatia). Italy’s win had the signature of Paola Egonu (17 points, including four aces).
