THY İstanbul, hosts only on paper but visitors in reality, repeated the result from the first leg in a rematch and eliminated e-work Busto Arsizio from the Playoffs of the 2023 CEV Women’s Volleyball Cup.
THY denied Busto a feat in the final rematch of the CEV Volleyball Cup 2023 | Women Playoffs. After a 0-3 draw in the first leg in Italy, the Turkish side didn’t allow the “Butterflies” to come even close in the second leg. Not even the fact they were hosts again due to the earthquake in Turkey, THY’s parting ways with their head coach Marcello Abbondanza, or the last-minute dropout of Naz Aydemir Akyol were enough to reverse the balance of a match.
It will therefore be THY that will face France’s Volley Mulhouse Alsace, who’s coming from the CEV Champions League, in the quarterfinals (February 21 to March 2). The other pairings had already been defined – see the bracket.
