It was expected since Brazil had some great stars on the court, unlike the USA that played with a combined squad.

Ricardo Lucarelli was the top scorer with 14 points, while Wallace de Souza had 12 points. On the other side, Torey Defalco scored 13 points.

It is interesting that Yoandy Leal, the Cuban born player, spent the entire game on the bench. Recall that some of his compatriots are trying to return to the Cuban men’s national team.

Poland

Poland

In their first official match as the 2018 world champions, Poland defeated Australia in four sets. Both head coaches got loud applause from the spectators in the Spodek Arena in Katowice. Vital Heynen, of course as the man who commands the home side, and Australia national team coach Mark Lebedew, who has been working in Poland for five years. Tomasz Fornal made his debut for Poland national team in an official match. Dawid Konarski top-scored for the winners with 22 points, while Lincoln Williams notched 16 for the “Volleyroos”.
