The FIVB officially announced that the Netherlands men’s volleyball team will replace the China men’s volleyball team in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL).

China Volleyball Association (CVA) decided to withdraw its national men’s national team from this year’s edition of the VNL due to financial constraints and travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As reported by the FIVB, the Netherlands has been invited because of the team’s sporting excellence and the commercial potential of volleyball in the country according to the criteria for the selection of the original core VNL teams.
