Brazil barely survived the battle and beat the Dominican Republic on Day 2 of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics women’s volleyball tournament and noted the second win.
Brazil was pushed against the wall until the very end of the match but managed to survive and beat the Dominican Republic in Pool A of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics women’s volleyball tournament. The score of 15-12 in the tie-break gives you an idea of the extent of the battle at Ariake Arena. After the ‘Seleção’ reacted to losing the opening set by confidently taking the next two, no one thought that the side from the Caribbean will be capable of steering the encounter to the fifth set. But they did.
Fernanda Garay ‘Fê Garay’ top-scored Brazil with 26 points and made 77.4 % reception (24/31). Brayelin Martínez was the highlight of the Dominicans with 24 points scored. Brenda Castillo was perfect in reception, making 92.9 % (13/14).
