Antonin Rouzier, a big name of French and world volleyball, announced the end of his career.
Rouzier posted a statement on social media announcing his retirement from volleyball:
“There it is, it’s over”
It is time to close what will undoubtedly remain one of the greatest chapters of my life.
With great emotions I say goodbye after almost 20 years of career.
After so many years spent on the field doing my best to represent my country and my clubs, today I turn an important page.
I would like to thank my coaches, teammates, agent and all those who contributed to my success. They forced me to surpass myself, to question myself and to work hard to achieve my goals.
Thanks, of course, to my family and friends who supported me during this incredible adventure.
I leave volleyball with a sense of pride and satisfaction and I hope that my path can inspire future generations.
Now I am ready to take on new challenges, with the same passion and dedication.
Finally, I would like to give a special word to my wife, to whom I owe a lot: Thank you for your unwavering support all these years.
See you soon, in the sport hall or somewhere else 😉”
The announcement comes after Antonin Rouzier suffered an ankle sprain injury in training, forcing former France international and current player of Plessis-Robinson to make this surely difficult decision.
