After Seven Unforgettable Years in Stuttgart, Krystal Rivers Announces Her Retirement
After seven incredible years lighting up the court for Allianz MTV Stuttgart, Krystal Rivers has announced she will retire at the end of this season.
Rivers arrived in Stuttgart in 2018, a young and hungry opposite hitter from France, and quickly became the heart and soul of the team. With her unstoppable energy, fierce determination, and unmatched skills, she led the club to four German championships, two DVV Cups, and two Supercup wins—becoming the most successful player in the club’s history.
But her journey wasn’t without challenges. “There were times when I didn’t think I’d be able to keep playing, especially with my health struggles,” Rivers shared in an emotional statement. “But thanks to this incredible club, my teammates, our coaches, and the amazing fans, I got to live my dream longer than I ever imagined.”
Her words reflected a deep bond with Stuttgart—not just as a club, but as a home. “This place gave me more than just a career—it gave me family, unforgettable memories, and a community that believed in me.”
Club CEO Aurel Irion praised her unwavering loyalty and impact: “Without Krystal, Stuttgart’s volleyball story wouldn’t be what it is today. Her strength, discipline, and heart set her apart—not just as an athlete, but as a person.”
