Cucine Lube Civitanova had to work hard to stay unbeaten in the 2019/20 Italian Men’s Volleyball Championship regular season.

It seems that a fiasco in the recent Super Cup when they failed to reach the final in front of their own fans left mark on the players of Cucine Lube Civitanova in the continuation of the 2019/20 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season. Lube survived the scare from the visiting side of Top Volley Latina in Round 3 and won by a 3-1 (28-26, 25-15, 23-25, 25-23). It has to be noted that Lube head coach De Giorgi made several rotations in the line-up, leaving Simón, Juantorena and Rykhlicki on the bench. And only thanks to the fact that the first two entered the court in the fourth set, Lube managed to break the resistance of Latina and stay on the top of the charts with 4-0. Iranian Amir Ghafour top-scored for Lube with 19 points. The Frenchman Jean Patry poured in 26 points for the losing side.

Leo Shoes Modena also remained undefeated (3-0 ) after sweeping Globo Banca Popolare del Frusinate Sora, while the Dutchman Nimir Abdel-Aziz served as many as 10 aces for Allianz Milano in a three-set game. In total, he scored 27 points as his team beat Consar Ravenna on the road by a 3-0.
