After the arrivals of Dick Kooy, Salvatore Rossini, and Nimir Abdel-Aziz, Italy’s Trentino welcomed Serbian giant Marko Podraščanin to their roster.
The 32-year-old middle blocker has signed a two-year contract with the SuperLega club and will pair up with the compatriot Srećko Lisinac, forming one of the strongest obstacles on the net in the club volleyball next season. Both players recently became coronavirus-free.
For nearly a decade, Podraščanin has been one of the best players on his position in the world, evidenced by his numerous individual awards (one-time CEV EuroVolley and FIVB World League Best Blocker and a two-time CEV Champions League Best Middle Blocker) as well as titles with the national team for which he played nearly 300 games (two gold medals in the CEV EuroVolley and one in the FIVB World League).
Podraščanin came to Trentino from the ranks of their big rivals Sir Safety Conad Perugia for which he competed in the last four seasons.
