The former captain of the Canada Men’s Volleyball National Team, John Gordon Perrin, has returned to play in Italy again after six years.
The Verona Volley head coach Radostin Stoytchev will have a highly experienced player on his roster next season. The SuperLega side announced that they have reached an agreement with Perrin. The Canadian outside hitter came to Verona from Russia’s Lokomotiv (he ended the season with a brief engagement Iran’s Shahdab Yazd to compete in the Asian Club Championship) to rejoin the courts of the Italian Championship after six years and leaving Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza at the end of the 2015-16 season. Perrin, the Best Outside Spiker of the 2015 NORCECA Championship in which Canada took the gold medal, signed an agreement with Verona until 2023.
In November last year, Perrin decided to retire internationally.
