Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza Takes Down Verona 3-1 in Game 3, Advances to Semifinals

In front of a roaring, sold-out crowd at PalaOlimpia, Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza pulled off a powerful comeback against Rana Verona, winning 3-1 (16-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-19) to sweep the quarterfinal series and become the first team to reach the SuperLega Credem Banca Semifinals.
Verona came out swinging, firing on all cylinders in the opening set. With Keita leading the charge (21 points) and Sani backing him up (13 points), the home team grabbed an early lead and looked poised to take control. But Piacenza had other plans.
Led by an inspired performance from MVP Yuri Romanò—who racked up 14 points, including two aces and a block—Piacenza flipped the script in the second set. From that point on, they never looked back. Robertlandy Simon was a wall at the net with 12 points, while Maar (15) and Mandiraci (17) kept the pressure on Verona’s defense.
The third set was tight, but Simon and company found their rhythm and gradually pulled away. By the fourth, Piacenza was fully in charge, starting strong and never letting up. Verona fought hard, but the energy that fueled their early dominance seemed to fade.
With this win, Piacenza clinches the series 3-0 and now waits to face either Itas Trentino or Cisterna Volley in the Semifinals. Verona will regroup for the Playoffs for 5th Place.
