The second round of the Italian Serie A1 Tigotà delivered drama, surprises, and standout performances across Italy. After Sunday’s matches, Igor Gorgonzola Novara and Savino Del Bene Scandicci remain the only two teams with full points, while Firenze, Monviso, and Bergamo celebrated their first wins of the season.
At Pala Igor, Novara protected their lead at the top by defeating Eurotek Laica Uyba 3–1 (25–19, 25–21, 21–25, 25–20). Before 3,000 fans, Novara’s middle blockers proved decisive: Igiede, MVP with 19 points and 57% efficiency plus four blocks, and captain Bonifacio, who added 12 points with one ace and one block. For Uyba, Obossa (24) and Parra (16) kept the visitors in contention but couldn’t overturn Novara’s rhythm.
At PalaFenera, Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ‘76 earned a thrilling 3–2 victory over Numia Vero Volley Milano (36–34, 19–25, 25–23, 16–25, 15–12). In a marathon first set that ended 36–34, Chieri showed remarkable resilience. Despite Milano’s strong response in the second and fourth sets, the home team prevailed in the tie-break thanks to MVP Stella Nervini, who recorded 20 points and an impressive 72% reception efficiency. Nemeth topped the scoring with 29 points, while for Milano, Egonu posted 24, Kurtagic 14 with eight blocks, and Lanier and Piva added 10 each.
In Conegliano, Prosecco Doc A. Carraro Imoco marked their first home match of the season with a 3–0 win over Honda Cuneo Granda Volley (25–18, 25–16, 26–24). MVP Isabelle Haak shone again, scoring 26 points at 62% efficiency. Sillah, coming off the bench for Gabi, contributed 10 points, while Pucelj led Cuneo with 14. Conegliano also celebrated their “Grand Slam” from last season.
Savino Del Bene Scandicci maintained a perfect start by beating Bartoccini-MC Restauri Perugia 3–1 (25–20, 25–18, 23–25, 28–26). Despite Perugia’s resistance in the third and fourth sets, Scandicci’s quality prevailed in clutch moments.
There were also first victories for Wash4Green Monviso Volley, Il Bisonte Firenze, and Bergamo.
Monviso dominated CBF Balducci HR Macerata 3–0 (25–18, 25–16, 25–17) behind 18 points from Malual, with solid help from Davyskiba (14) and Dodson (12). For Macerata, Decortes and Kokkonen both scored 12.
In Pesaro, Il Bisonte Firenze edged Megabox Ondulati Del Savio Vallefoglia 3–2 (11–25, 25–20, 20–25, 26–24, 11–15). Bukilic starred with 30 points, Knollema earned MVP with 23, and Omoruyi led Vallefoglia with 22. After a seesaw battle, Firenze sealed the tie-break 11–15 for their first win.
Finally, Bergamo delighted their home crowd with a commanding 3–0 victory over Omag-MT San Giovanni in Marignano (25–16, 25–20, 25–18). Cesé Montalvo led with 18 points, Kipp added 13, and Kochurina scored 10 for the visitors.
