“We hosted two world championships, now we will try to host the third, in 2018,” Carlo Magri, the President of the Italian Volleyball Federation, said in an interview for “Il Messaggero”.
Italy already organized men’s planetary tournament in 1978 and 2010.
In 2014, however, it organized the Women’s World Championship that will be hosted by Japan in 2018.
Other candidate, Bulgaria, is also willing to submit its candidacy.
