Busto fans
At the end of the match of Serie A1 between Busto and Liu Jo Modena (0-3), on Sunday, several watter bottles were launched from the stands on the court as act of resignation from Busto’s supporters in regard to refereeing.
Since incidents of this kind are very rare at volleyball matches, even Board members of Busto were shocked by act of their fans.
“It is a very serious incident which we condemn in all ways. I had never seen such an unsportsmanlike, vulgar and potentially violent attitude in our ‘Palayamamay’ gymnasium. It is an isolated incident, of course, that has nothing to do with the behavior of our most loyal supporters, whose fairness has always been exemplary. But we cannot remain impassive. We apologize to all. Any arbitration decision, although obviously wrong, must be accepted,” stated the President of Busto, Giuseppe Pirola.
