Conegliano vs. Casalmaggiore
The champions of Italian Women’s volleyball Championship, Serie A1, Conegliano confirmed their supremacy in the competition by downing European champions Pomì Casalmaggiore in Round 16, 3-1 (26-24, 17-25, 25-19, 25-21).
Before the match, only one point separated these two teams in the standings, now it’s four, in favor of leaders Conegliano. The Dutch middle blocker Robin de Kruijf was unstoppable for Casalmaggiore’s defense – 18 points (4 blocks). Croatian Samanta Fabris had 21 for the Champions League gold medalists.
Tonight was the night of tie-breaks in Italian top division. Il Bisonte Firenze, Liu Jo Nordmeccanica Modena and Savino Scandicci all beat their rivals only after five sets.
