PAN AM CUP U23 M: Mexico make a debut and score win!

Mexico needed three sets to defeat Guatemala in their debut at the fourth men’s U23 Pan Amerian Cup 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-23).

It was a very uncertain game for Mexico with Guatemala remaining always very close with tight scores.

Opposite Diego Gonzalez of Mexico led all scorers with 18 points including 13 kills and 4 blocks. Wing spiker Miguel Sarabia chipped in with 13 points on 12 kills and one ace. Wing spiker Carlos Lopez led with 15 points for the host Guatemala, followed by Wagner Chacon with 11 points and middle blocker Edras Pineda collected 10 points including 4 blocks.

Mexico (1-0) will face Cuba (2-0) on Wednesday and Guatemala (1-1) has the day off.
