In the 2019 Women’s Volleyball U20 Pan-American Cup – Herbalife Cup (the fifth edition of the tournament) final that was held in Lima, Peru, Cuba national team defeated the Dominican Republic in the tie-break to win the first gold medal in this age category. This title also gave Cuba the right to compete in the 2019 FIVB Women’s Volleyball U20 World Championship in Mexico.
The outside hitter Ailama Cesé top-scored for the winning side with 29 points. Madeline Guillén notched 30 points for the Dominican Republic.
The hosts Peru swept Puerto Rico in straight sets, partially 25-16, 25-23, 25-17, to win the bronze medal.
