The Dominican Republic proved too strong for Chinese Taipei in Monday’s first Pool A duel (3-2). The Caribbean improve their win-loss ratio to 3-0 while the Asians suffered their first defeat (2-1). We did not lose one point but won two, said Dominican Republic coach Roberto Rocha Wagner.

Chinese Taipei coach Chung-Jen Lo: “We lost today, but we are happy with one point against a strong opponent.

Chinese Taipei captain Wei-Hua Wu: “I was maybe the best scorer of my team, but important is our team performance that was very respectable today.”
