WCHU23 W: Japan improve to 4-0 mark in Pool A

Japan improved their win-loss record to 4-0 in Pool B with 10 points following a straight-set victory (25-19, 25-16, 25-19) over Argentina at Baja California High Performance Center on Tuesday afternoon.

It was a total team-effort for the winners who had Saori Takahashi and Sarina Koga as their main producers with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Haruyo Shimamura added 9 tallies while Nozomi Ito and Miku Benoki chipped in with 8 points apiece.

Virginia Granado and Tanya Acosta collected 12 and 10 points, respectively, as top scorers of Argentina.

Japan held an 11-4 advantage in the blocking charts and a slight 4-3 margin in aces. The winners made 9 unforced errors compared to 23 by the losers.
