The first round of the Men’s V.League Division 1 in 2022 (Round 15) was marked with a return of the Russian star Muserskiy to the court after 7 months, i.e. after the doping suspension, which expired 4 days ago. The famous player led the titleholders Suntory Sunbirds to a 3-2 win over the Wolfdogs Nagoya with 36 points. The last match Muserskiy played thus far was on June 9 against France in the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League even though his disqualification was ongoing but that was concealed from him.

Leaders Toray Arrows suffered a defeat after making 6 wins in a row. They were beaten in the tie-break by the JT Thunders Hiroshima, who recorded the 5th successive triumph. The only team that didn’t feel the sweet taste of victory since the beginning of the season, VC Nagano Tridents, finally managed to break their 14-game losing streak as they beat Ōita Miyoshi Weisse Adler with a score of 3-2
