So far not a single domestic player has been confirmed to wear the jersey of the Romanian men’s volleyball side Rapid București, but three foreign players have been confirmed.
Another foreigner decided to join Rapid’s roster for 2022-23. Willian Bermúdez was announced as the latest reinforcement by the club that narrowly avoided relegation from the country’s topflight last season. The Colombian international, 2.05m tall, played in Portugal in 2021-22, more precisely with AJ Fonte Bastardo. The 27-year-old opposite hitter has also played in his career for the following teams: Greece’s PAOK Thessaloniki, Italy’s Allianz Milano and Globo Banca Popolare del Frusinate Sora, Qatar’s Qatar S.C. and Al-Rayyan S.C., Saudi’s Al-Hilal VC and Al-Salam, and Switzerland’s Volley Schönenwerd.
Prior to Bermúdez, Rapid engaged Portugese outside hitter José Pedro Gomes (Olimpia Titanii București) and Brazilian middle blocker Victor Hugo Pereira (Sporting CP, Portugal).
