The home team of Kenya beat Algeria in straight sets in the final of 17th African Nations Championship – 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-20).
Kenyan receiver Evelyn Makuto was announced as the MVP of the tournament.
Thus, Kenya defended the title of the best team in Africa and will represent the continent’s interests at the 2015 FIVB World Cup in Japan, in September along with the finalists, Algeria.
Cameroon won the bronze medal in the opening match of the day after beating Senegal in a tie-break, partially 25-19, 23-25, 14-25, 25-13, 17-15.
