Kelci French, Captain of Canada, said they gave their best but we didn’t play up to our best in the first set. “In the second and third set we improved our reception”, she said.
“I am very glad with the girls because we played against a Canada team that played great defense”, Peru’s coach Jose Dos Santos said. “It is very important for us to play out game. So I tell them when you can’t make a hard hit you have to play smart ball.”
“I was surprised by the way our team bounced back after a subpar first set”, Canada’s Ryan Hofer said. “We blocked very well in the last two sets and enjoyed the support of the fans of the match.”
