NORCECA W: Peru stay unbeaten at 2-0

Peru defeated Canada in four sets (25-15, 21-25, 26-24, 25-22) for their second triumph in two outings in the U-23 Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup on Tuesday. Canada dropped to a 0-2 record in Pool B.

The home side took advantage of 40 unforced errors made by the Canadians while making 26. The winners were better from the service line 10-6 but the defeated side held a 17-7 margin in the blocking category.

Angela Leyva led four Peruvians with double digits in the score charts with 14 points. Ginna Lopez and Karla Ortiz tallied 11 apiece while Clarivet Yllescas added 10 points.

Canada’s Royale Richardson and Sophie Carpentier each finished with 15 points while Amy Leschied and Alicia Perrin had 8 points apiece.
