It was a sweet piece of revenge for Antigua and Barbuda who was beaten 3-2 by Dominica in their opening match on Thursday night.
Xavier Roberts contributed 15 points for Antigua and Barbuda and Collin Thomas had 14.
Antigua and Barbuda finished the tournament with a 3-2 win loss ratio.
Dominica, on the other hand, had two wins as against two losses.
Antigua and Barbuda’s coach, Fitzroy Benjamin indeed was happy that his team was able to be third among the six teams, but expressed that he would have preferred to be in the final against the home team.
“Third place is better than being out of the top three… but would have liked to be in that final game against the home team … we wanted to give the fans here some entertainment”, Benjamin said.
Looking ahead to the game from here on in Antigua and Barbuda, Benjamin said : “We have to go back to the drawing board and think about next year and future tournaments.“
Before the bronze medal place was decided, French St Martin secured the fifth spot, ousting St Vincent and the Grenadines, 3-1( 25-20, 25-22, 9-25, 25-21).
St Vincent and the Grenadines was the only team in the tournament to be winless, ending with four losses.
French St Martin conjured up one win and three losses.
