The 1st round of voting for the 2016/17 Wov Women’s Dream Team is underway. HERE you can find everything you need to know about the Poll, while do not forget that you can vote at our WorldofVolley Home Page and at our WorldofVolley Poll Page.

Before giving your vote so some player, here are some things you might want to know about them…

Today, we are presenting you the OPPOSITES.

Tijana Bošković (Eczacibasi VitrA): Certainly one of the best young players currently in the volleyball world. Tijana started this season by winning the 2016 FIVB Club World Championship in Manila with her Eczacibasi VitrA, while she was named the MVP of the tournament. However, despite her excellent performances during the rest of the season, her club stayed empty-handed in other competitions.

But, that does not change the fact that Bošković was one of the best players of each competition she participated in over the past year.

Lonneke Sloetjes (VakifBank Istanbul): This was another great season for Lonneke Sloetjes. She became the champion of Europe as her VakifBank won the 2016/17 CEV Champions League, while she also became the champion of the world as VakifBank claimed the gold medal at the 2017 FIVB Club World Championship.

And in both competitions, Lonneke Sloetjes was simply brilliant.

Katarina Barun (Igor Gogonzola Novara): We all know that the Italian Championship is one of the best in Europe and Katarina Barun was named the MVP of the Serie A1 Finals! She won the national title with Igor Gorgonzola Novara, which was quite enough to be one of the candidates for the best opposite of the 2016/17 season.

Nataliya Goncharova (Dinamo Moscow): Some would say that she is the most dominant player in women’s volleyball. Indeed, if she is in good shape, Nataliya Goncharova is able to win the game single-handedly and we have seen her doing that plenty of times during the 2016/17 season.

At the end, she won the Russian Championship with Dinamo Moscow and helped the club reach the final four of the 2016/17 CEV Champions League.

Gabi Guimaraes (Rexona-Sesc): Definitely the favorite of all Brazilian volleyball fans and there is a good reason for that. She is considered to be the leader of the new generation of Brazilian players, while despite being just 23 years old Gabi has already won plenty of trophies.

Only in the 2016/17 season, Gabi won the Brazilian Championship, Brazilian Cup and South American Club Championship, while she helped Rexona-Sesc to reach the Finals of the 2017 FIVB Club World Championship.

Impressive.
