Information about the negotiations with Matteo Martino were confirmed on Twitter by the AZS coach Jakub Bednaruk.

The transfer of the Italian is standing in the background of existing movements in AZS Politechnika Warsawska on the transfer market: Juraj Zatko, Adrian Gontariu, Mateusz Sacharewicz, Maciej Stępień and Artur Szalpuk have signed contracts with the club from the Polish capital.

The member of the Italian national team from Olympics in Beijing already had one season playing in the Polish league.

Martino was marked as an international star of Jastrzębski Węgiel, but certainly failed to become successful the 2012/13 season despite the bronze medal in the Polish championship.

During the season he was spending more and more time in the reserve box. In the interviews he gave to the Polish media, Martino expressed dissatisfaction with the team and admitted that he just got bored.

Before coming to Poland in 2012, Martino (1987, 1.98m) was member of Italian clubs Giev Busca, Bre Banca Lanutti Cuneo, Premier Hotel Crema, Sparkling Milano, Lube Banca Macerata and Casa Modena.
