Grzegorz Bociek signed a contract with ZAKSĄ Kędzierzyn-Koźle for the season 2012/2013, but management of his former club AZS Częstochowa found, however, that the opposite did not have the right to change the club and decided to exclude him for one year.

The official website of the club from Jasna Góra has been issued an statement:

“Board of Sports Club AZS Częstochowa in connection with Disciplinary Rules of Polish Volleyball Association unanimously passed a resolution to disqualify the player Grzegorz Bociek for a period of 12 months because of non-sports activities. The resolution will come into force on the date of adoption. Reason and all the documents have been sent to the President of the Polish Volleyball Federation.

Grzegorz Bociek committed a serious violation of the Agreement from 1st August 2012 by talking with another club from the PlusLiga during the term of the Agreement with the Sports Club AZS Częstochowa.

At the same time, in our opinion, this suspension should results in Mr. Grzegorz Bociek’s inability to further participate in the national team in the preparations for the European Championships, as well as to participate in the event. The Board of the Club requests from Polish Volleyball Federation to suspend the rights of the player and to inform international volleyball authorities such as the CEV and FIVB about it, within 5 days from the date of receiving this resolution”.
