RUS M: Russian men’s national team stays without head coach, Klimkin to take over?

by WoV

The President of the Russian Volleyball Federation Stanislav Shevchenko has announced that Russia are officially searching for a new head coach for the men’s national team.

Sergey Shlyapnikov

That means that Sergey Shlyapnikov is no longer the head coach of the Russian men’s national team.

RVF offered Sergey Shlyapnikov to lead the long-term program of training the Russian men’s national team for the World Championship 2022. Shylapnikov agreed. So, he will be transferred from the position of the head coach to the position of the head of the training program for the Russian men’s national team,” says Shevchenko.

However, the main dilemma in Russia is about hiring a new coach: Shout it be a foreign coach or to hire domestic once again?

Vladimir Alekno has denied the rumors about coming back to the bench of Russia, while Zenit St. Petersburg coach Alexander Klimkin is in the spotlight.
