RUS W: Uralochka have view from first place in table, Dinamo Kazan end Proton’s unbeaten run

Uralochka-NTMK settled at the top of the table in the 2019/20 Russian Women’s Volleyball Championship regular season after three rounds.

In the third round of the 2019/20 Superliga Parimatch, Uralochka-NTMK defeated Sakhalin at home in three sets, partially 25-19, 25-20 and 25-22, ending rivals unbeaten run. Now, the team based in Yekaterinburg has three victories out of three games and became the sole leader in the standings. Kseniya Parubets top-scored for Uralochka with 18 points, while Evgeniya Bochkareva made 11 for the losing side.

Beside Sakhalin’s unbeaten run, one more has come to an end. After two victories at the start of the season, Proton earned the right to be taken seriously by other teams. Dinamo-Kazan approached an away game against them with caution and took home all three points. Dinamo, who were deprived of help from Dominican De la Cruz, were led by Croatian international Samanta Fabris. She poured in 22 points, while Marina Maryukhnich made 4 kill blocks. Proton’s outside hitter Anastasiya Bavykina scored 15 points against the team for which she competed last season. Elena Savkina set up 4 kill blocks.
