Ivan Zaytsev was the most productive player in the Kuzbass squad in their win (3-1: 23-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-21) against Enisey in Zone 1. The Italian opposite hitter scored 21 points.
In Zone 3, Bartosz Bednorz tallied 13 points for Zenit-Kazan, who prevailed over ASK by a 3-1. The Pole wasn’t the best scorer of his side, it was Andrey Surmachevskiy (14 points).
We saw one big match in the first round – in Zone 1, Fakel swept Zenit Saint-Petersburg: 3-0 (25-20, 28-26, 25-19).
