As Gian Luca Pasini published in his blog, Zenit-Kazan seriously consider returning Aleksey Verbov at the head coach position.
This wouldn’t be so odd if they did their best to keep him at the helm at the end of the last season. Instead, the 6-time CEV Champions League winners let him leave to the Superliga rivals Kuzbass where he’s doing a great job (the Kemerovo team is the vice-leader and was at the top of the charts on several occasions). On the other hand, Zenit’s performance this season is quite unsatisfying for a reputation they have in Russia and beyond (they are 4th but until recently had a losing streak of 4 games in Superliga; 7 defeats in 8 games in total) under their legendary head coach Vladimir Alekno.
