Lokomotiv beat Dinamo-Ak Bars (Dinamo Kazan) in the big match of the third round of the 2021/22 Russian Women’s Volleyball Championship.
Lokomotiv gave no chance to Dinamo Kazan in the big match of Round 3 of the 2021/22 Superliga Parimatch: 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-22). The Kaliningrad club thus beat one more title contender in just one week. It was a meeting between the reigning champions and the bronze medalists of the last season. The change of the home ground obviously affected the Kazan side a bit – their Kazan Volleyball Centre is under reconstruction and the match was held in a small arena of the Saint Petersburg Volleyball Center. Lokomotiv were led to a 3-0 record in the league by the Pole Malwina Smarzek (20 points) and Irina Voronkova (six blocks).
In a duel of the two undefeated teams, Tulitsa downed Proton in straight sets. Dinamo Krasnodar continued to tear down obstacles in the competition. Even though they were deprived of the help of several players who were left to play the youth league and starting setter Vera Vetrova (moved to Dinamo Kazan a few days ago), Krasnodar beat Enisey (3-1) and kept the perfect record. Valeriya Shevchuk top-scored the winning side with 25 points. Mariya Perepelkina and Yuliya Podskalnaya set up six blocks apiece out of 18 of Kranodar.
