RUS M: Zenit-Kazan record 24th consecutive win, Dinamo Moscow move up to 3rd place in charts

Zenit-Kazan ended the 6-match home series in the 2021/22 Russian Men’s Volleyball Championship with a win over ASK in Round 17.

The match against ASK valid for Round 17 of the 2021/22 Men’s Superliga Parimatch, put an end to Zenit-Kazan’s series of matches at home in the competition. The Tatarstan giants were hosts 6 times in a row. Zenit achieved their 11th consecutive Superliga win and 24th consecutive win in all competitions. To beat ASK, they didn’t even need Bednorz and Mikhaylov as they both left on the bench by the head coach Aleksey Verbov. Andrey Surmachevskiy top-scored the winning side with 17 points. Aleksey Kononov made 4 blocks and a 75% attack (9/12). Zenit still have a comfortable point advantage over second-placed Lokomotiv (+11).

Dinamo Moscow benefited from yesterday’s defeat of Zenit St. Petersburg. After they swept Gazprom-Yugra on the road, the club from the Russian capital took over 3rd place in charts from Zenit.
