Kuzbass, the last Russian pre-COVID champions, are on the right path to fixing an awful first half of the regular season in the 2022–23 PARI Superliga for men (2022–23 PARI Суперлига мужчины). The Kemerovo-based team broke Fakel’s resistance in five sets on the road, coming back from 0-1 and 1-2 in sets in the Round 16 match. This was Kuzbass’ fourth consecutive victory, despite the fact that the team has no imports or big names on the roster, unlike in previous seasons. And they used to have Zaytsev, Kerminen, Alan, Poletaev, Sivozhelez…

The most productive player in Kuzbass, who are currently eighth-ranked in the standings (eight points above the top 4 zone, ensuring a direct placement in the playoff quarter-finals) today was Kirill Klets with 30 points. Korney Enns scored 27 for Fakel.
