In the wake of recent results, Lokomotiv Kaliningrad has made the decision to part ways with their head coach, Konstantin Sidenko. The team’s performance in the Russian Championship saw them facing defeat in two out of the four opening matches, with losses against Moscow’s Dinamo (0-3) and Proton (1-3).
Reflecting on the change, it’s crucial to mention that the 49-year-old Sidenko had taken the reins of Lokomotiv in the summer of 2022. He had stepped in to fill the shoes of the departing Andrey Voronkov.
The club has swiftly moved to ensure stability by appointing Radoslav Arsov as the interim head coach. Arsov, a Bulgarian expert in the field, has been associated with Lokomotiv since 2022.
Lokomotiv released an official statement regarding Sidenko’s departure: “Konstantin Sidenko has stepped down from his role as head coach of VC Lokomotiv, Kaliningrad region. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Konstantin Anatolyevich for his dedication and efforts and wish him every success in his forthcoming endeavors.”
Konstantin Sidenko shared his feelings on the departure, stating, “The past one and a half years at Lokomotiv were both demanding and rewarding for me. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities to collaborate with the players, coaching team, management, and club administration. A special thanks goes out to our fans for their unwavering support in challenging times. My best wishes are with Lokomotiv for their future endeavors.”
The club further confirmed Radoslav Arsov’s appointment, reiterating his previous accomplishments and expressing confidence in his ability to guide the team forward.
