Last year’s winners and 2013 European gold medalists Russia aim to cement their supremacy on the international stage by vying for more glory in the 2014 edition of the FIVB World League.

The head coach Andrey Voronkov released the list of the 22 players who compose the roster of the team that will try to retain the title won last year in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Russia will start their campaign on May 30 in Niš playing hosts Serbia.

The 22 players named by Voronkov are:

Setters: Dmitriy Kovalev (Prikame Perm), Sergey Makarov (Kuzbass Kemerovo), Sergey Grankin (Dinamo Moscow) 

Opposites: Nikolay Pavlov (Guberniya Nizhniy Novgorod), Maxim Mikhaylov (Zenit Kazan), Maksim Zhigalov (Belogorie Belgorod), Denis Zemchenok (Dinamo Krasnodar) 

Wing-spikers: Taras Khtey and Dmitriy Ilinykh (Belogorie Belgorod), Evgeny Sivozhelez (Zenit Kazan), Denis Biryukov (Dinamo Moscow), Alexey Spiridonov (Fakel Novy Urengoy), Sergey Savin (Guberniya Nizhniy Novgorod), Alexey Rodichev (Gazprom-Ugra Surgut) 

Middle-blockers: Nikolay Apalikov (Zenit Kazan), Alexey Ostapenko (Guberniya Nizhniy Novgorod), Artem Smolyar (Gazprom-Ugra Surgut), Dmitriy Muserskiy (Belogorie Belgorod), Artem Volvich (Lokomotiv Novosibirsk) 

Liberos: Alexey Verbov (Zenit Kazan), Artem Ermakov (Dinamo Moscow), Valentin Golubev (Lokomotiv Novosibirsk)
