Zenit-Kazan proved their championship form once again, earning a 3–1 victory over Yenisey Krasnoyarsk (25:17, 22:25, 25:19, 25:17) in the Russian Volleyball SuperLiga. Zenit started strong, controlling the first set with confident play from Dmitriy Volkov and Mikhail Labinskii. Yenisey responded with determination, taking the second set through solid defense and spirited attacks from Vitaliy Fettsov, but Zenit quickly regrouped to dominate the remaining sets and seal the win.
Head coach Alexey Verbov commended his team’s resilience, noting that while communication still needs fine-tuning, Zenit “handled the pressure well.” Volkov echoed the sentiment, saying Yenisey’s energy “kept the match intense from start to finish.”
Earlier in the day, Orenburzhye Orenburg edged out Gorky Nizhny Novgorod 3–1 (15:25, 25:22, 25:23, 26:24) after a shaky start. Gorky took the first set with strong serving, but Orenburzhye turned the tide behind Artyom Aleksandrov and Vadim Yutsevich, whose key points in the closing sets secured the comeback victory.
