A 35-year-old Swede Marcus Nilsson, who was without a club since October last year, is the new player of Lokomotiv. It would not be such a strange news if Novosibirsk club did not hire Maksim Zhigalov, another player in the same position, only a week ago. But, since the newcomer cannot be signed up for the 2018 CEV Champions League as he already played the 2018 CEV Cup with Belogorie Belgorod, Lokomotiv wanted to give a support to Nikolay Pavlov in the tournament in which the club from Novosibirsk advanced to the Playoffs 12.
Nilsson is one of the most favorite players ever when it comes to Lokomotiv fans as he led the club to the title in the 2013 CEV Champions League, being awarded MVP of the Final Four.
The Swedish veteran started the season in Zenit Sankt-Peterburg but Superliga rookies terminated the contract with him for medical reasons.
