Serbia’s women’s volleyball team opened its preparations for the 2026 CEV European Championship with a 2-2 draw against Russia in a closed-door friendly in Belgrade.
Played behind closed doors in Belgrade, the 99-minute match ended with set scores of 30-28, 19-25, 25-21, 18-25, with each side claiming two sets.
Head coach Zoran Terzić used the contest to test his roster, rotating 14 players throughout the match while evaluating different combinations ahead of the tournament.
Aleksandra Uzelac led Serbia with 13 points, while Hena Kurtagić and Tijana Bošković added 12 points apiece. Serbia finished with 53 kills, nine blocks and six aces, posting a 47% reception efficiency.
Russia received a match-high 14 points from Tatiana Tolok, while Marina Markova contributed 12. The visitors held a slight edge at the net with 14 blocks and also recorded 10 serve aces.
The teams will face each other again on Friday, August 7, in the official friendly match at the Sports Hall in Ub. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. local time.
Serbia will open its EuroVolley 2026 campaign on August 21 against Austria in Brno, where it will also face the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Greece and Ukraine in Pool B.
