Belarus caught a good start in the opening set and did quickly bring it home with the massive score of 21-11. Turkey found their way into the game in the second set going up 8:5 showing excellent defense and great spikes (10:7, 14:8); Turkey did control the operations up to the end and could go for the provisional 1:1.
Belarus returned to dominate the game in the third set and could cruise to a speedy 21-14 to make it 2:1 in sets. However, Turkey was not ready to surrender and did call for the tie-break.
There Belarus caught the better start (3:0) and did not relinquish the lead up to the end of the game (15-11) for their second victory in the competition after last week’s win over Israel.
Turkey’s Kemal Kivanc Elgaz top scored in the game with 24 points while Siarhei Antanovich did register 20 for Belarus in their winning effort.
