Dinamo started out by edging Rabita BAKU of Azerbaijan on Friday (30-28, 25-21, 21-25, 23-25, and 15-11) before cruising past the hosts of Eczacibasi with the score of 3:1 (19-25, 25-21, 26-24, and 25-22). In the last day of the competition, i.e. on Sunday, Dinamo downed also TED ANKARA Kolejliler in straight sets (25-17, 25-22, and 25-22) to finish atop of the charts while Eczacibasi did eventually finish second after edging the 2011 club world champions of Rabita BAKU in three sets as well (25-20, 25-22, and 25-17).
“The level of this tournament was very high and it turned into a perfect opportunity for all teams to see where they stand and analyze their strengths and weaknesses before the start of the season” says Eczacibasi head coach Lorenzo Micelli. “We sincerely appreciate the efforts of all teams that came to Istanbul to join us.”
A member of the Eczacibasi Sports Club Board of Administration, Sacit Basmaci, awarded Dinamo with the trophy for the winners of the tournament while the remaining participating teams received commemorative plates.
