NCAA W: Michigan State’s victory gives Big Ten seven teams in round of 16

Michigan State defeated host Kentucky 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-22, 25-20) on Sunday afternoon. MSU advances to the NCAA round of 16, which will be held at Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum on Dec. 13-14. The Spartans will play Penn State, while Stanford and Minnesota will also compete in Lexington. Kentucky ends its season with a 22-9 overall record, and with its loss, eliminates all SEC teams from the NCAA tournament.

NCAA Division I championship is coming to a close and more then few upsets happened. Numerous seeded teams are out of the competition with Missouri being the strongest one. They’ve lost to Purdue after four sets.

Florida State – Wisconsin

Stanford – Minnesota

Illinois – Purdue

Michigan State – Penn State
