On Wednesday two Italian teams – Prosecco-Doc Imoco CONEGLIANO and Unendo Yamamay BUSTO ARSIZIO – will prolong their rivalry also in the prelims of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women. The home heroines of Prosecco Doc-Imoco, known as the “Panthers”, are currently ranked second in Pool E with seven points while last year’s bronze medalists Unendo Yamamay have lost four matches in a row and are on the brink of an early elimination from the competition.

CONEGLIANO just won their last game in the national league by routing Banca di FORLI in three sets while Unendo Yamamay won at the tie-break their match with Igor NOVARA. “This is going to be a classy match” says Prosecco Doc-Imoco head coach Marco Gaspari.

“If we win we can make the Playoffs and so we are extra motivated to give our best. This match is like a pre-final for us. This is a very demanding Pool and it is essential to win every home match. This is a derby starring two teams that know each other very well; this is going to be a great game and we will give our best so as to claim our fourth victory in the competition.” CONEGLIANO will still be missing their team captain Raffaella Calloni who recently underwent surgery at her Achilles tendon.
